Online Cap Builder Guide
Design Your Own Hat
Build a custom cap in four simple steps — choose a style, upload your logo, pick a decoration and colors, and receive a free digital mockup. For brands, teams, events and promotional buyers who want a factory-made cap with their logo on it.
How it works in four steps
From blank cap to approved mockup — a clear, low-risk sequence designed for buyers who are ordering custom caps for the first time.
Choose your cap style
Pick from baseball caps, trucker caps, snapbacks, fitted caps, dad hats, 5 and 6 panel caps, camo caps, beanies or visors. Each style has different fabric, closure and panel options — tell us your budget and use case and we will recommend the right base.
Upload your logo
Send your artwork in AI, EPS, PDF or high-resolution PNG. We digitize or prepare the file for your chosen decoration and confirm the exact placement and size on a digital mockup before anything is produced.
Choose decoration & colors
Select embroidery, 3D puff, screen print, heat transfer, a leather patch or a woven patch. Then pick fabric and thread or ink colors. We match your brand palette and advise where each method performs best.
Receive your free mockup
We send a free digital mockup showing your cap, logo placement and colors. Approve it, request revisions, or order a physical sample in [SAMPLE_DAYS] days before bulk production begins.
Supported logo file formats
Vector artwork gives the cleanest result because it can be scaled without losing quality. If you only have a raster image, send the highest resolution version you have and we will advise whether it needs redrawing.

Decoration method comparison
Six ways to put your logo on a cap, compared by cost tier, minimum quantity, durability and the cap styles each one suits best.
| Method | Cost tier | Minimum quantity | Durability | Best for cap styles |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Embroidery | Mid | [MOQ] pcs | Excellent — thread lasts the life of the cap | All styles, incl. beanies and visors |
| 3D Puff | Higher | [MOQ] pcs | Excellent — raised foam holds its shape | Structured baseball caps, trucker caps, snapbacks |
| Screen Print | Lower | [MOQ] pcs | Good — fine for flat panels, less ideal on seams | 5-panel caps, dad hats, visors, flat panels |
| Heat Transfer | Lower | [MOQ] pcs | Good — best for gradients, photos and fine detail | Baseball caps, dad hats, visors |
| Leather Patch | Higher | [MOQ] pcs | Excellent — premium, ages well | Trucker caps, dad hats, unstructured caps |
| Woven Patch | Mid | [MOQ] pcs | Excellent — fine detail with a textured finish | Snapbacks, 5-panel caps, baseball caps |
Cost tiers are relative only. Final price depends on fabric, decoration and quantity — your quote shows the exact figures.
Design & Ordering FAQ
It is four steps: choose a cap style, upload your logo, pick your decoration and colors, and receive a free digital mockup. Once you approve the mockup, we can produce a physical sample in [SAMPLE_DAYS] days and then move to bulk production.
Yes. The digital mockup and artwork proof are free with no obligation. The only paid step is the optional physical sample, which costs [SAMPLE_FEE] and is typically credited back against your bulk order.
Vector files are preferred: AI, EPS or PDF with text converted to outlines. High-resolution PNG at 300 dpi is also accepted. JPG files work if they are large and clean. If your artwork needs cleanup, we will tell you before quoting digitizing or setup fees.
The minimum order is [MOQ] pieces per style per color. This keeps setup and digitizing costs reasonable while letting small brands and teams get started without committing to huge volumes.
It depends on your logo and budget. Embroidery is durable and premium, 3D puff adds bold dimension, screen print suits fine detail and large flat areas, heat transfer handles gradients and photos, and leather or woven patches give a premium textured finish. The comparison table on this page covers the trade-offs.
Yes. Many brands combine an embroidered front logo with a woven side label, or a leather patch front with screen print on the side. Each method is quoted separately and everything is shown together on one mockup.
Yes, and we recommend it. A physical sample is produced in [SAMPLE_DAYS] days after mockup approval and costs [SAMPLE_FEE], credited back against your bulk order. No bulk production starts until you approve the sample.
Typical bulk production is [PROD_DAYS] days after sample approval, depending on quantity and decoration complexity. Shipping time is separate. We confirm a firm delivery date in your quote.
Yes. For embroidery we match Pantone references against our thread library of [THREAD_COLORS] stocked colors. For print and heat transfer we use standard ink systems and can match most Pantone shades. We confirm colors on the mockup and sample.
